Ascendo Resources is currently seeking an Accounting Associate for a full-time, on-site role located in Long Island City.

This role offers a salary up to $70,000 with 100% of health insurance paid for!

Our client is a well-established global engineering firm. We're seeking an Accounting Specialist to join a small, close-knit accounting team at their U.S. headquarters in Long Island City.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves the details: reconciliations, AP/AR, data entry, and keeping the books airtight, while working alongside a team that will directly mentor and support you.

What you'll do:

• Process AP transactions — invoice matching, approvals, and coding
• Support AR activities: invoicing, cash application, collections
• Perform weekly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist with month-end/year-end close and audit documentation
• Maintain vendor, supplier, and customer master files
• Support financial reporting, forecasting, and ad-hoc analysis

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience (logistics, construction, or infrastructure a plus)
• Experience with foreign currency transactions
• Advanced Excel skills; QuickBooks Desktop experience preferred
• Exposure to project-based/construction accounting and WIP schedules is a plus
