Heavy Haul Operations Manager

The Opportunity

An established transportation and logistics organization is seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Operations Manager to oversee daily operations supporting oversized and overweight (OS/OW) freight movement. This leadership role is responsible for supervising operations personnel, improving operational efficiency, managing complex transportation projects, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do

• Manage daily heavy haul transportation operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop operations team members.
• Balance workloads and optimize operational performance.
• Review transportation projects for operational feasibility and pricing support.
• Coordinate routing, permitting, scheduling, and project execution.
• Collaborate with Sales, Billing, and other internal departments.
• Improve operational workflows and implement process improvements.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and customer service metrics.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of heavy haul or specialized transportation experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of OS/OW transportation, permitting, routing, and equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent project management certification.
• Previous CDL-A experience.
