Accounting Assistant – Part-Time

Location: Miami Beach, FL 33139
Pay: $28/hour, with flexibility based on experience
Schedule: 8–12 hours per week; one day per week, preferably Wednesday

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support a well-established organization in Miami Beach. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity ideal for an accounting professional who is comfortable working with QuickBooks Online and enjoys supporting a variety of bookkeeping and accounting functions.

The Accounting Assistant will work closely with the organization's bookkeeper and provide hands-on support across day-to-day accounting activities. The position is expected to require approximately 8–12 hours per week, with Wednesday availability strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bookkeeper with day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities

• Enter, review, and maintain financial information in QuickBooks Online

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed

• Assist with transaction coding, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

• Help organize accounting records and supporting documentation

• Research and resolve routine discrepancies

• Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed

Qualifications

• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting assistant experience

• Hands-on QuickBooks Online experience required

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to maintain accurate and confidential financial information

• Comfortable working independently in a part-time environment

• Strong communication and follow-through skills

• Availability to work on-site in Miami Beach approximately one day per week

• Wednesday availability strongly preferred

Compensation & Schedule

• Starting pay of $28 per hour, with flexibility for candidates whose experience warrants a higher rate

• Approximately 8–12 hours per week

• One on-site workday per week, preferably Wednesday

• Long-term temporary opportunity with the potential to continue indefinitely

• Parking arrangements can be discussed for candidates who drive
