About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance team on a contract-to-hire basis. The initial assignment is hybrid and is expected to last 6–8 months, with the potential for extension or permanent employment.

 

Reporting to the Regional Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, manufacturing cost accounting, and project accounting. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, a strong understanding of GAAP, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Support Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting and revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Analyze general ledger activity and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to analyze project costs, inventory, and gross margin performance.
  • Support manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, and operational reporting.
  • Assist with audits, internal controls, and financial compliance initiatives.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and support ERP system enhancements and implementations.
  • Support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within public accounting and/or a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, revenue recognition, and internal controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as M3, Jobscope, SAP, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI and SQL is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 15, ASC 606, and IFRS 16 is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
