Job Title: Medical Records Clerk Location: Chattanooga, TN
An established healthcare organization is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to support medical records and documentation operations. Candidates must have at least 2 years of medical records experience and must be an active Tennessee Notary Public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and maintain medical records documentation accurately and confidentially
- Print, prepare, and organize forms, requests, certifications, and related paperwork
- Review and process medical records requests while ensuring compliance requirements are met
- Sign and notarize documents as required
- Utilize EMR systems to access, update, and maintain patient information
- Support backlog cleanup and records processing initiatives
- Coordinate and manage supplies and materials needed for document handling
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of medical records experience required
- Active Tennessee Notary Public commission required
- Experience working with HIPAA regulations and protected health information
- Hands-on experience using EMR systems
- Strong administrative and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Must be local to the Chattanooga, TN area
- Comfortable supporting occasional in-person business needs if required
