HR Generalist (Canadian HR Experience) – Temp-to-Perm

Location: Fully Remote – Preference for candidates in Raleigh, NC
Travel: Required travel to Toronto, Canada; all travel expenses fully covered
Compensation: $40–$48/hour | $80,000–$100,000

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing global workforce solutions organization seeking an HR Generalist with strong Canadian HR and employment law experience on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a progressive, growth-minded HR professional who wants to expand their scope and take on increasing responsibility. The position will serve as the primary HR resource for the Canadian business and act as the go-to subject matter expert for Canadian HR matters.

Canadian HR experience is required.

What You'll Do

  • Manage full-cycle HR operations for the Canadian business
  • Provide guidance on Canadian employment and labor law
  • Serve as the go-to HR resource for employees and leaders
  • Handle employee relations, investigations, and workplace issues
  • Support hiring, terminations, and other employee lifecycle matters
  • Review and update HR policies and employee handbooks
  • Partner with leaders on HR-related questions and decisions
  • Support training and development initiatives
  • Assist with HRIS enhancements, automation, and process improvements
  • Lead and support ad-hoc HR projects
  • Help build and improve HR processes as the Canadian business continues to grow

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of HR experience
  • Strong Canadian HR/employment law experience – required
  • Experience supporting employees and leaders in Canada
  • Strong employee relations and HR operations experience
  • English required; French is highly preferred
  • Strong HRIS and systems experience
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, global environment
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills

Growth Opportunity

The client is open to candidates coming from an HR Specialist, HR Generalist, or HR Manager background. The role can evolve as the Canadian business grows, with opportunities to take on broader responsibilities and potentially progress toward a management or HRBP-level position.

Work Arrangement & Travel

This is a remote U.S.-based role, with a preference for candidates located in Raleigh, NC.

Travel to the company's Toronto office is required. During the first two weeks, the selected candidate will travel to Toronto and work alongside the team to become familiar with the business, learn processes, and build relationships with the team.

All required travel expenses will be fully covered.

Interview Process

  2. Video interview with VP of Operations
  3. Final interview with Director and Canadian team
  4. Personality assessment
