Collections Analyst | Garden City, NY | Onsite | Pay: $35–$38/hr | Salary upon conversion: $75,000 | 3+ Month Temp-to-Perm 

About the role
A well-established, industry-leading construction and crane services company with over 80 years of history is seeking a Collections Analyst to cover a maternity leave with strong potential to convert permanently. This is a high-volume, standalone collections role managing a portfolio of approximately 300 accounts and $15M in outstanding receivables — ideal for a seasoned B2B collections professional who is assertive, organized, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

What you'll actually do

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 300 commercial accounts, prioritizing collection activity based on aging and risk
• Conduct approximately 30 customer touchpoints daily via phone and email to follow up on outstanding balances
• Negotiate payment commitments and develop collection strategies to resolve past-due accounts
• Manage customer disputes by looping in the Sales team to gather information and drive resolution
• Participate in weekly Sales team meetings to review problem accounts and align on collection strategies
• Perform customer account reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies
• Generate and analyze DSO and AR aging reports in Excel
• Drive timely payment resolutions across a mix of larger and smaller accounts
• Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activity and account status

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of B2B collections experience managing a high-volume commercial portfolio
• Proven experience managing 300+ accounts simultaneously
• Comfortable conducting 30+ customer touchpoints daily via phone and email
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel — VLOOKUPs and PivotTables required
• Experience generating DSO and AR aging reports
• Highly collaborative with Sales teams — assertive yet professional in all communications
• Strong account reconciliation and dispute resolution skills
• Construction, crane, transportation, or field-service industry experience a plus

• Location: Garden City Plaza, Garden City, NY 11530 | Fully onsite
• Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5:30pm or 8am-5pm | 40-hour work week
• Engagement: 3+ month temp-to-perm (maternity leave coverage)
• Interview process: Virtual with Director of Credit & Collections and AR Manager → Onsite interview
