About Opportunity
A rapidly growing private aviation company is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to play an important role in a company experiencing significant growth.
The company currently supports 15 franchise locations and plans to add additional franchises as it continues to expand. The accounting department is currently lean, providing the successful candidate with significant visibility and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the organization grows.
This position is ideal for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. The Staff Accountant will work closely with franchise owners, customers, company leadership, and external accounting partners.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and record daily journal entries and other accounting transactions
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Reconcile franchise payments and related accounts
• Perform various balance sheets and general ledger account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Review transactions for accuracy and completeness
• Research and resolve discrepancies and outstanding items
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records
• Work with franchise owners and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting and payment questions
• Provide professional and responsive customer service to franchise owners and customers
• Assist the CFO and external CPA firm with accounting and financial reporting needs
• Support financial statement preparation and month-end processes
• Help improve accounting processes and procedures as the company continues to grow
• Take on additional accounting responsibilities as the organization and accounting team expand
Qualifications
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Strong QuickBooks experience required
• Experience with Accounting Seed or other accounting/ERP systems is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with franchise owners, customers, management, and external accounting professionals
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a small team
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company where priorities may evolve
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
