Location: North Carolina (Remote/Hybrid)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Personal Injury Attorney with at least two (2) years of experience handling personal injury matters in North Carolina. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of pre-litigation and litigation personal injury claims, advocating for injured clients, negotiating settlements, and representing clients throughout the litigation process.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced legal team while developing strong litigation, negotiation, and client management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle personal injury cases from intake through resolution.
  • Evaluate claims and develop legal strategies to maximize client recovery.
  • Conduct client consultations and maintain regular communication throughout representation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and settlement demands.
  • Manage case investigations, including reviewing medical records, accident reports, and other evidence.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Attend mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and court appearances.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Maintain compliance with North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure and professional ethics requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of personal injury experience, including plaintiff or defense work.
  • Knowledge of North Carolina personal injury law and civil litigation procedures.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.

Preferred

  • Trial experience or significant litigation exposure.
  • Experience negotiating settlements with insurance carriers.
  • Experience handling automobile accident, premises liability, and wrongful death claims.
  • Familiarity with medical records review and damages analysis.
