Senior Hardware Engineer – Embedded Electronics

Jacksonville, FL | On-Site

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a highly hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys owning hardware design from initial concept through production and solving complex technical problems along the way.

You will lead the design and development of embedded electronic products, work closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams, and play a key role in bringing reliable, manufacturable products to market.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hardware engineer who wants technical ownership, visibility, and the ability to influence both new product development and existing product improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop embedded electronic hardware from concept through production

  • Develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, sensor, wireless, and microcontroller-based circuits

  • Create and review schematics and PCB layouts

  • Lead prototype bring-up, testing, debugging, and design validation

  • Support EVT, DVT, PVT, environmental testing, and EMC/EMI pre-compliance activities

  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and hardware/firmware issues and perform root cause analysis

  • Partner with manufacturing on production issues, yield improvement, engineering changes, and sustaining engineering

  • Work with Supply Chain and Procurement on component selection, obsolescence, alternate parts, second sourcing, and supplier issues

  • Support regulatory and compliance requirements including FCC, CE, UL, EMC, and environmental testing

  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers

  • Collaborate closely with Firmware, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field

  • 3+ years of professional experience designing embedded electronic hardware

  • Demonstrated experience taking electronic products from design through production

  • Strong hands-on experience with analog and digital circuit design

  • Experience designing with microcontrollers and common interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, USB, or Ethernet

  • Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout review using Altium, OrCAD, PADS, or similar tools

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and other lab equipment

  • Understanding of EMC/EMI, signal integrity, DFM, and DFT

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments

Nice to Have

  • Power supply, sensor interface, wireless, or battery-powered product design

  • EMC pre-compliance or regulatory testing experience

  • Experience with FCC, CE, UL, HazLoc, or similar standards

  • Exposure to embedded firmware development

  • Experience with C, C++, Python, or Linux

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Hands-on ownership of products from concept through production

  • Opportunity to work on both new product development and complex engineering challenges

  • High visibility across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations

  • Collaborative environment with the opportunity to influence engineering best practices

  • Competitive compensation based on experience

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability Insurance

  • Retirement plan with company match

  • Paid Time Off
