Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator for a temp-to-permanent opportunity. This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional who has hands-on experience independently processing payroll and is looking to continue growing their career within a professional Finance environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable taking ownership of payroll responsibilities, and able to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Independently process payroll from start to finish.
  • Manage multiple payroll cycles while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Review timesheets, employee records, wages, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and related accounting activities.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support payroll audits and compliance-related activities.
  • Partner with Finance and HR on payroll-related matters.
  • Assist with additional Finance and accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience independently processing payroll is required.
  • Experience with Paycom, ADP, UKG, Paychex, or a similar payroll/HRIS system.
  • Knowledge of payroll practices, taxes, deductions, and wage regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet payroll deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
