Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the accounting operations of a food and beverage manufacturing facility in the Mount Laurel, NJ area. This role will assist with month-end close, general ledger activities, product costing, inventory accounting, financial analysis, and manufacturing accounting processes.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on accounting experience within a food and beverage manufacturing environment, strong product costing and inventory accounting knowledge, excellent Excel skills, and experience with backflushing processes. Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly accounting close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Perform product costing and related financial analysis, primarily using Microsoft Excel.
- Maintain and analyze inventory-related accounting records and transactions.
- Support inventory reconciliation and backflushing processes.
- Research and resolve accounting, costing, and inventory discrepancies.
- Analyze product costs, manufacturing variances, and inventory activity.
- Support general ledger activities and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Utilize JD Edwards (JDE) to review and maintain accounting and inventory information.
- Work closely with accounting, finance, and plant operations teams.
- Assist with financial reporting, audits, and special accounting projects as needed.
- Travel occasionally to another plant as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience
- Previous Staff Accountant, Cost Accountant, Plant Accountant, or similar accounting experience.
- Food and beverage manufacturing experience required.
- Strong experience with product costing and inventory accounting.
- Knowledge of backflushing processes strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or a similar ERP system preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet accounting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both accounting and plant operations teams.
- Comfortable working in a casual, personable, and collaborative environment.

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Contract Length: 6 months
- Travel: Occasional travel to another plant required
