About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, proactive accounting professional who communicates well and takes ownership of their work.

The ideal candidate will have no more than 5 years of accounting experience and may come from either a public accounting or corporate accounting background.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accounting activities in support of the company's financial operations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial information and identify discrepancies.
• Assist with financial reporting and accounting analysis.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting-related questions and issues.
• Support audit and year-end activities.
• Take ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities and deadlines.
• Support accounting activities related to the company's continued growth and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• No more than 5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Public accounting or corporate accounting experience welcomed.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and highly organized approach to work.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a growing, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a 17-person accounting team.

Work Schedule

• Hybrid – 3 days on-site
• Location: New Hyde Park, NY
• Flexible on which days are worked on-site.

Compensation & Benefits

• $95,000–$105,000 base salary
• Discretionary year-end bonus
• 80 hours vacation annually
• 56 hours sick time annually
• 6 company holidays
• 3 floating holidays
• 2 additional floating holidays after year-end audit
• Sick and vacation time are interchangeable
