Litigation Practice Assistant

Miami, FL (Downtown) - On-site

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week, OT paid after 40 hours)

Experience: 3+ years (mid-to-large law firm preferred)

Practice Area: Litigation

Compensation: Starts at $70,000, up to $90,000 (depending on experience)

Our Client is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation team. This role requires strong federal and state court filing experience, excellent document skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering outstanding client service.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple attorneys with day-to-day litigation administrative needs
  • Open new matters, assist with conflicts checks, and coordinate with firm departments (billing, records, training, etc.)
  • Prepare, draft, proofread, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents
  • File pleadings in Florida state and federal courts (must be comfortable with court e-filing systems and related requirements)
  • Calendar deadlines, calculate due dates, and ensure compliance with procedural rules
  • Schedule hearings in accordance with court procedures and requirements
  • Assist with the client billing process (narratives, edits, tracking billable tasks, billing due dates, and delivery of bills)
  • Track attorney/client expenses; process reimbursements and payments
  • Coordinate client appointments and support attorney scheduling needs
  • Maintain electronic and paper case files
  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail and general correspondence; answer/screen calls and emails
  • Provide occasional support for business development/event coordination

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of law firm experience, ideally as a Litigation Legal Assistant
  • Hands-on experience filing in both State and Federal courts
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and deadline-management skills
  • Comfortable working fully on-site in Miami
