Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support the accounting department of an established organization in the industrial equipment and distribution industry. This individual will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor accounts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring payments are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and review high volumes of vendor invoices for accuracy and proper coding.

• Match invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation.

• Perform three-way matching and investigate discrepancies.

• Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor payment inquiries.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances.

• Prepare and process payments in accordance with established schedules.

• Assist with month-end closing and accounts payable reporting.

• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

• Work closely with purchasing, receiving, and internal departments to resolve invoice issues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounts payable or general accounting.

• Knowledge of invoice processing, purchase orders, and vendor reconciliations.

• Experience with three-way matching preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with ERP or accounting software preferred.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced accounting environment. Someone with previous experience in manufacturing, construction, automotive, equipment distribution, or a similar industry would be a plus.
