Job Description: Nursing Home Abuse Plaintiff Legal Assistant

Location: Onsite, Miami, FL

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team specializing in nursing home abuse cases. The ideal candidate will have experience with Litify and a passion for advocating for vulnerable populations. This role requires strong organizational skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to handle sensitive cases with compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in managing nursing home abuse cases, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Utilize Litify to organize case files, track deadlines, and maintain detailed records of all communications and developments in cases.
• Conduct legal research and gather evidence to support case development.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts, providing updates and gathering necessary information.
• Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings; manage attorneys' calendars.
• Prepare and file documents with the court, ensuring compliance with all legal procedures and deadlines.
• Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a legal assistant, preferably in personal injury or plaintiff law.
• Proficiency in Litify and other legal software.
• Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures, particularly related to nursing home abuse.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Empathy and a commitment to advocating for clients in distressing situations.

Education:

• Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
