General Description
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Lead is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing through the effective management of the AR department. This role also oversees collection efforts to secure timely payments. The position reports to senior financial leadership.


Key Duties

  • Oversee, analyze, and resolve accounts receivable issues.
  • Prioritize AR department workflow to ensure timely billing completion.
  • Conduct credit checks for new customers.
  • Maintain and secure customer master data in coordination with Treasury.
  • Contact customers regarding payments, investigate non-payment issues, negotiate resolutions, and expedite payments.
  • Facilitate regular aging meetings with division leadership.
  • Collaborate with division managers on collections and pricing accuracy.
  • Assist with short-term cash forecasting to support financial planning.
  • Coordinate collection efforts with legal counsel when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Functional Leadership Responsibilities (AR Team)

  • Ensure the AR team meets deadlines and completes tasks efficiently.
  • Confirm all customer payments are posted promptly.
  • Process waivers for applicable customers.
  • Oversee timely posting of credit and rebills.
  • Distribute and file customer invoices and statements accurately.
  • Ensure contract billings from project teams are prepared and filed on time.
  • Save daily production spreadsheets for all relevant locations.
  • Manage daily billing for plant operations.
  • Handle Notice of Subcontract (NOS) letters and related documentation.
  • Monitor and address unapplied cash balances daily.
  • Maintain tax exemption compliance for projects and customer accounts.
  • Oversee received payments, deposit preparation, and check submissions.
  • Verify proper postings and clearings in Treasury.

Qualification Requirements

General

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel and SAP required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Frequent ability to talk and hear, both in-person and via telephone.
  • Frequent ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Frequent visual requirements, including close and distance vision.
  • Infrequent movement within an office environment, including stairs or elevators.
  • Infrequent lifting of documents or materials, up to 10 pounds.
