Job Summary:
Highwoods Properties is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join our team in Tampa, FL. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient operation and superior service delivery across our full-service commercial office buildings. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor, operate, and maintain HVAC systems to ensure optimal building performance.

Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical system repairs.

Conduct routine inspections, life safety checks, and preventative maintenance.

Manage maintenance records, equipment inventories, and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.

Support budgeting efforts through cost-conscious maintenance practices and vendor coordination.

Participate in emergency and weather preparedness planning and execution.

Serve as the first point of contact for maintenance issues during on-call shifts, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays.

Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach in all tenant interactions.
Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience and/or education in commercial building maintenance.

Proficient in HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and general facility repairs.

EPA Certification (Type D) preferred.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and safely climb ladders and access rooftops.

Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoors and at elevated heights.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Basic computer skills required, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Must be available for on-call duties during nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
