Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasonedHardware Engineerwith a proven background in electronic hardware development and a passion for building robust, high-performance systems. This role involves end-to-end responsibility for PCBA design, circuit development, product validation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless product integration. The ideal candidate brings expertise in developing reliable hardware for complex environments, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop complex PCBAs using tools such as Altium Designer or SolidWorks PCB, ensuring high quality, performance, and manufacturability.
- Produce clear, well-structured schematics; perform component selection with consideration for cost, reliability, and sourcing.
- Engineer power management and protection circuits including overvoltage/undervoltage safeguards and battery management systems.
- Prepare Gerber files and documentation for PCBA manufacturing, including pick-and-place data.
- Own the initial hardware bring-up process—perform validation, root cause analysis, and debugging of prototype systems.
- Collaborate closely with firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth integration of hardware into the broader product ecosystem.
- Design and test circuitry for:
- PWM-based brushless motor control systems
- Wireless communication modules (Bluetooth, RFID, Wi-Fi, Cellular)
- Vehicle bus systems (CAN, LIN) and harness integration
- Implement best practices for EMI/ESD suppression in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Select components designed for use in rugged, high-stress environments to support long-term durability and reliability.
- Integrate environmental and operational sensors (e.g., gas, pressure, temperature, humidity, dirt) into product platforms.
- Utilize lab instrumentation—oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters—to support testing and validation.
- Conduct compliance testing and resolve certification issues (e.g., FCC, CE).
- Document schematics, layout decisions, test protocols, and development activities in alignment with HDLC processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in mechanical design, QA, and supply chain to improve DFM/DFT outcomes.
- Participate in risk analysis processes, including DFMEA and PFMEA reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in hardware development, PCBA design, and new product bring-up.
- Strong grounding in EMI/ESD protection and best practices for electrical robustness.
- Experience designing power management circuitry for critical systems.
- Proficiency with embedded systems, C programming, and hardware/software co-design.
- Deep familiarity with touchscreen GUI integration and data logging/storage systems.
- Skilled with electronics test tools including oscilloscopes and signal analyzers.
- Experienced in Gerber generation and production file management.
- Knowledgeable in industry compliance standards and product validation procedures.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills; adept at working in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on quality, scalability, and reliability.
