Docketing Specialist - Litigation & Bankruptcy Support (Hybrid | Fort Lauderdale)

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Employment Type: Full-Time | Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day remote after 90 days)

Are you a detail-oriented legal professional with a passion for litigation and bankruptcy support? We're seeking a Docketing Specialist to join a prestigious law firm through our agency. This role is ideal for someone with strong calendaring and docketing experience who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.

About the Role:

As a Docketing Specialist, you will support both litigation and bankruptcy teams by managing critical deadlines, conducting court-related research, and ensuring compliance with procedural rules. You'll work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to maintain accurate docketing and calendaring systems, contributing to risk management and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and calendar essential deadlines using court rules-based docketing software (Compulaw preferred).
  • Review legal documents for relevant dates and enter them into the docketing system.
  • Conduct research on court cases, dockets, and judges using PACER, Westlaw, CourtDrive, and other databases.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding court procedures, deadlines, and filings.
  • Prepare and distribute docket reports and apply quality control measures.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and collaborate on agenda items.
  • Perform ad hoc research and miscellaneous projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of docketing experience in bankruptcy or litigation.
  • Experience with Federal and State courts across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong knowledge of court rules, procedures, and electronic filing practices.
  • Familiarity with legal documents and terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Hybrid: 4 days in-office, 1 day remote (after 90 days; subject to change).
