Job Title: Accounting Assistant 

Location: Tampa, FL 33626
Salary Range: $50,000–$59,000 annually (depending on experience)
Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm- ONSITE


Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with experience performing accounting-related or analytical functions. This role is ideal for someone who understands end-of-month financial processes, data reconciliation, and report analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our monthly premium remittance and related financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Premium Remittance:

    • Pull and analyze data from internal management systems.

    • Compare premium history to data from external underwriting systems.

    • Develop and document procedures to ensure compliance and process consistency.

  • Data Accuracy & Reconciliation:

    • Compare, verify, and reconcile datasets to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.

    • Maintain clear documentation of findings and adjustments.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    • Assist with report and statement analysis related to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

    • Support general end-of-month duties, including data validation and account review.

  • Ad Hoc & Special Projects:

    • Contribute to various analytical or reporting projects as assigned.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve reporting accuracy.


Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an accounting, finance, or data analysis role (no accounting degree required).

  • Familiarity with end-of-month financial close or reconciliation processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
