Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing domestic and international freight logistics, providing accurate freight quotes, and coordinating warehouse logistics for inventory, customers, and vendors. This role actively manages hazmat shipments, maintains carrier and 3PL relationships, and ensures efficient and compliant shipping operations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Logistics Coordination

  • Maintain all required hazmat certifications.

  • Provide freight quotes upon request.

  • Coordinate inbound shipments and inventory transfers between warehouses.

  • Cube truckload and container shipments for internal warehouses and customer orders.

  • Schedule and track all domestic, international, and tradeshow shipments (truckload, container, LTL).

  • Schedule carrier shipments originating from non-automated warehouse locations.

  • Negotiate competitive rates with carriers and 3PL providers for inbound, outbound, and third-party shipments.

  • Become proficient in Starship and support warehouse teams with system issues.

  • Process and submit freight claims for damaged shipments.

  • Obtain documents required for international shipments, including Certificates of Origin, lab analyses, customs forms, and label approvals.

  • Prepare and forward import documentation such as invoices and bills of lading.

  • Maintain accurate product shipping data in accordance with customs regulations and international shipping codes.

  • Execute CHEMTREC requirements, ensure SDS sheets remain current, and manage the Affiliate CHEMTREC program.

Customer Support

  • Cross-train with the Customer Service team to provide support during high-volume periods.

  • Support distributors, end-users, internal/external sales reps, and vendors—ensuring each inquiry is directed or resolved appropriately.

  • Assist customers with product terminology, features, and benefits to enhance sales and satisfaction.

  • Resolve customer product or service issues promptly and professionally.

  • Assess customer needs to recommend appropriate products and solutions.

  • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items.

  • Maintain technical knowledge of new and existing products to answer customer questions effectively.

  • Document all customer interactions and communications in Salesforce.


Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.

  • Hazmat certifications (CFR, IMO, IATA) preferred.

  • Organization & Time Management: Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.

  • Systems & Software: Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Starship or similar logistics software preferred.
