The HR Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting employee and HR-related data to support decision-making, improve HR processes, and drive strategic workforce initiatives. This role ensures accuracy of HR metrics, develops dashboards and reports, and partners with HR leadership to provide insights that enhance organizational performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Management

    • Gather, validate, and maintain HR data from multiple systems (HRIS, ATS, payroll, performance management, etc.).

    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across all platforms.

  • Reporting & Dashboards

    • Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and recurring HR reports (turnover, headcount, retention, DEI, compensation, etc.).

    • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual workforce analytics to HR leaders and executives.

  • Analysis & Insights

    • Analyze workforce trends, identify patterns, and provide data-driven recommendations.

    • Evaluate HR processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and data accuracy.

    • Conduct predictive analytics (e.g., turnover forecasting, staffing projections) when applicable.

  • Systems & Tools

    • Support HR system configuration, data uploads, and data audits.

    • Work with IT, HRIS, and payroll teams to troubleshoot data issues and optimize system performance.

  • Compliance & Governance

    • Ensure reporting accuracy for compliance purposes (EEO, AAP, I-9 audits, regulatory requests).

    • Maintain data privacy and follow confidentiality standards.

  • Cross-Functional Support

    • Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to support workforce planning and budgeting.

    • Assist with compensation analysis and benchmarking as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience working with HRIS systems (Workday, ADP, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors, etc.).

  • Strong proficiency with Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Understanding of HR processes, metrics, and compliance requirements.
