Job Title: Refrigeration Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Manager to lead a maintenance team responsible for ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and related plant equipment. The ideal candidate prioritizes safety, quality, service, and operational efficiency, manages a small team, and ensures all systems operate reliably and within compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise refrigeration technicians, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

• Locate, diagnose, and repair complex refrigeration system failures.

• Install and integrate new refrigeration systems into existing equipment following safety and sanitation guidelines.

• Conduct daily inspections of boilers and refrigeration systems using schematics, visual observations, and temperature probes.

• Maintain accurate digital and manual maintenance records for all refrigeration and boiler equipment.

• Ensure compliance with PSM, Hazmat, and other safety regulations; assist with audits.

• Manage contractor safety compliance programs and support operational standards and corrective actions.

• Respond to emergencies, including 24/7 on-call situations.

• Mentor and guide technicians to support skill development and team efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility with ammonia refrigeration systems.

• RETA Level 1 and 2 certifications; Level 3 or equivalent preferred.

• Boiler and PSM certifications required.

• Proven experience managing and supervising maintenance staff.

• Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and plant equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical instructions.

• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

• Proficiency with Windows-based computer programs and digital recordkeeping.

• Ability to lift 50–70 lbs., work in confined spaces, refrigerated environments, and varying temperatures.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.

• Must work in refrigerated and high-temperature environments and distinguish colors for electrical wiring.

• Availability for assigned shifts, overtime, and emergency call-ins.
