Ascendo Resources is seeking an experienced Production Planner to support a growing food manufacturing operation focused on organic protein products. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and adjusting production schedules in a highly manual planning environment without automated scheduling systems.

This is a hands-on role requiring advanced Excel skills, strong operational judgment, and the ability to pivot quickly as conditions change.

Responsibilities

  • Create daily and weekly production schedules aligned with demand, inventory, and capacity

  • Release and manage production work orders with accurate BOMs and yields

  • Adjust plans for downtime, shortages, quality issues, and labor constraints

  • Manage raw material and packaging availability

  • Monitor yields and material usage; investigate variances

  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure full traceability (raw, WIP, finished goods)

  • Enforce FIFO / FEFO and regulatory requirements

  • Build manual capacity models for labor and production lines

  • Identify bottlenecks and support recovery planning

  • Support customer order fulfillment and service levels

  • Generate reports and trackers using Excel, Google Sheets, and reporting tools

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of production planning or scheduling experience

  • Food manufacturing experience required (protein or meat strongly preferred)

  • Experience in USDA-regulated or perishable environments preferred

  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills required

  • ERP / MRP and WMS system experience

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Work Conditions

  • Full-time, on-site in Pedricktown, NJ

  • Ability to work in cold or refrigerated environments as needed
