AutoCAD Civil 3D Designer
Full-Time | Jacksonville, FL | On-Site | Residential Land Development

Overview:
A growing residential land development firm in the Southeast is bringing key civil design capabilities in-house and is seeking an early-career AutoCAD Civil 3D Designer to support the planning and execution of master-planned communities. This is a newly created role offering hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of land development, close collaboration with leadership, and a clear path for professional growth.

This opportunity is well-suited for a designer who wants to move beyond production-only work and gain broader visibility into how communities are conceived, designed, and built.

What You Will Do:

Design and Documentation

  • Develop community and site layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting residential lots, road networks, open space, and amenity areas
  • Assist with site plans, grading concepts, and utility layouts for internal review and external coordination
  • Create 3D renderings and visualizations to support concept development and communicate design intent

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Work closely with an external civil engineering partner to prepare concepts before formal handoff
  • Review, redline, and quality-check third-party drawings for consistency and accuracy
  • Coordinate with internal development, planning, and leadership teams to align design solutions with project and business objectives

Growth and Ownership

  • Take on increasing responsibility for internal drawings and design coordination over time
  • Help establish internal CAD standards, workflows, and best practices
  • Grow into a more senior design role as the organization expands its in-house capabilities

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience in civil, site, or land development design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Exposure to residential land development or master-planned communities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design iterations
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering degree
  • Experience with SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, Twinmotion, or Rhino
  • Familiarity with single-family or townhome developments
  • Early exposure to construction documentation or coordination with external consultants

Why This Opportunity:

  • Ground-floor role helping build internal civil design capabilities
  • Clear growth path with increasing responsibility and visibility
  • Mission-driven work focused on attainable housing and quality of life
  • Direct involvement in real-world development projects, not just drafting tasks
  • Collaborative environment with access to decision-makers

Compensation and Work Environment:

  • Salary: $70,000 annually
  • Full-time, on-site position in a Southeast coastal Florida location
  • Start date targeted for early 2026

This role is ideal for an early-career civil designer who is curious, eager to learn, and motivated by seeing projects through from concept to construction. Candidates seeking ownership, growth, and meaningful impact within a smaller, development-focused environment will find this opportunity particularly compelling.
