A respected North Carolina law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its Wilmington office. This is a great opportunity for a skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys playing a key role in litigation support from start to finish.

After the initial 90-day onboarding period, this position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.


About the Role

The Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys on complex cases, ensuring that every detail is handled efficiently and accurately. This role involves preparing and organizing legal documents, coordinating discovery, communicating with clients and experts, and assisting with trial preparation. You’ll be an integral part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional legal service and results.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Draft and format pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and settlement documents.

  • Manage and maintain case files, exhibits, discovery materials, and trial notebooks.

  • Conduct factual and legal research to support case strategy.

  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and vendors to move cases forward.

  • Prepare summaries of depositions, discovery responses, and medical or event chronologies.

  • Support attorneys during hearings, mediations, and trials with exhibit preparation and presentations.

  • Record daily billable time and maintain organized electronic and physical files.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading, grammar, and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with document management systems.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Experience with Eclipse or similar litigation software preferred.
