Quality Assurance Technician (Food Manufacturing)

Job Summary

A growing food manufacturing company is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician to support food safety and quality programs within a USDA-regulated meat processing facility. This is a hands-on QA role focused on HACCP compliance, sanitation, inspections, documentation, and production-floor oversight.

This position is ideal for candidates with food safety, QA, or meat processing experience who are comfortable working in cold environments and fast-paced production settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor production to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and food safety programs

• Perform quality and food safety inspections on raw materials, in-process, and finished products

• Conduct pre-operational and operational sanitation inspections

• Verify and document critical control points (CCPs) and preventive controls

• Collect samples for microbiological, chemical, and physical testing

• Maintain accurate QA records, logs, and reports

• Identify non-conformances and assist with corrective actions

• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and traceability

• Support USDA inspections and third-party audits

• Assist with product holds, releases, and investigations

• Train production employees on food safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Experience in food manufacturing or meat processing preferred

• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and sanitation programs

• Experience with packaging lines preferred

• OEE software experience a plus

• Ability to work in cold environments (27°F–45°F)

• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Bilingual Spanish a plus (not required)

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
