Maintenance Mechanic – Food Manufacturing Facility

Location: Pedricktown, NJ (On-site)
Pay: $30–$34 per hour
Job Type: Full-time | Overtime Available

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support a high-volume food manufacturing and cold storage facility. This role is responsible for preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and facility upkeep to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.

This is a hands-on role ideal for mechanics with experience in industrial, facilities, or manufacturing maintenance environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on facility and production equipment

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime

• Complete maintenance work orders accurately and on time

• Conduct facility inspections and identify repair needs proactively

• Install and relocate equipment, furniture, and workstations

• Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and material-handling equipment safely

• Maintain parts and maintenance inventory; report low stock levels

• Follow GMP, food safety, and OSHA safety standards (lockout/tagout, PPE, confined space)

• Maintain clear and accurate maintenance documentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (technical or trade school a plus)

• 2+ years of maintenance mechanic or facilities maintenance experience

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs

• Comfortable working in cold environments (27°F–45°F)

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Food manufacturing or processing experience preferred

• Bilingual Spanish a plus (not required)

• Willingness to work overtime as needed

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
