Inventory Control Lead – Food Manufacturing

Location: Pedricktown, NJ (On-Site)
Pay: $25–$31 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

A growing organic food manufacturing company is hiring an Inventory Control Lead to manage inventory accuracy across raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. This role supports production planning, warehouse operations, and inventory controls in a regulated food manufacturing environment.

The Inventory Control Lead works closely with production, procurement, logistics, quality, and cost accounting teams to ensure accurate inventory, strong FIFO compliance, and on-time customer fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control & Manufacturing Support

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

  • Review daily production work orders and confirm material usage, yields, and scanning accuracy

  • Investigate inventory variances and resolve root causes

  • Lead cycle counts and support physical inventory audits

Warehouse Operations

  • Enforce FIFO, lot traceability, organic segregation, and labeling standards

  • Maintain inventory accuracy across coolers, freezers, staging, and finished goods areas

  • Support warehouse layout, pick paths, and material flow improvements

ERP, Data & Reporting

  • Execute inventory transactions including usage, transfers, and adjustments

  • Maintain item masters, BOMs, routings, and location data

  • Generate reports on yields, scrap, variances, and key inventory KPIs

Month-End & Cost Accounting Support

  • Complete month-end inventory reconciliations

  • Support cost accounting with yield analysis and BOM accuracy

  • Assist with internal, customer, and regulatory audits (USDA, Organic, SQF)

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead and support inventory staff

  • Train teams on SOPs, scanning, and inventory accuracy

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of inventory control, supply chain, or manufacturing experience

  • Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Salesforce or similar)

  • Strong Excel skills and analytical ability

  • Knowledge of inventory best practices, FIFO, and production workflows

  • Ability to work in cold or refrigerated environments

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
