Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to ensure accurate and timely application of customer payments. This role will focus on processing cash payments, maintaining records, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies. The ideal candidate has experience with high-volume accounts and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply customer payments accurately and in a timely manner, utilizing knowledge of products, processes, and business relationships.

  • Maintain and update files for missing remittances.

  • Collaborate with the team to identify and clear intercompany (IC) payments.

  • Process monthly netting cash applications.

  • Access and utilize various customer portals to obtain necessary information for correct cash application.

  • Interface with customers, collections, sales, and customer service teams; notify collections of potential problem accounts due to short payments, deductions, or missing information.

  • Provide weekly and monthly updates to management.

  • Reconcile bank accounts daily to ensure accuracy and integrity of accounts receivable, including analyzing offsets, processing write-off requests, and confirming correct payment application.

  • Escalate potential problem accounts to the appropriate manager or supervisor, ensuring follow-up and documentation in writing.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of cash application experience, preferably with large-volume or high-profile accounts.

  • Strong experience communicating with multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders.
