Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Community Manager for a full-time, on-site role located in Midtown, Manhattan.
This role pays a range of $100,000 to $130,000 a year plus an annual bonus.

This role will oversee the operations of a high-end residential portfolio in New York City. This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on property management professional with a strong background in NYC rent-regulated housing, building operations, and resident relations.
The Community Manager will be responsible for maximizing occupancy, ensuring legal and operational compliance, managing capital improvements, and fostering a strong sense of community through excellent resident service.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident & Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary liaison with owners, asset managers, residents, and business partners.
- Maintain exceptional resident satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (compliance, leasing, accounting, etc.).
Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day building operations with a strong focus on service, safety, and responsiveness.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections, and vendor management.
- Ensure compliance with all local codes, audits, and inspections.
- Manage capital improvement projects and apartment renovations.
Financial & Administrative Duties:
- Assist in preparing budgets, variance reports, utility consumption tracking, and forecasts.
- Monitor operating expenses, process invoices, and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure insurance requirements and documentation are current and compliant.
Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and supervise onsite staff including resident managers, leasing, and administrative personnel.
- Set performance goals, manage workflows, and promote a culture of accountability.
- Oversee work of external contractors to ensure quality, safety, and minimal disruption to residents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of residential property management experience, specifically in NYC rent-regulated properties.
- Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) compliance and high-end residential operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with property management platforms preferred.
- NYC Real Estate License (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven ability to meet occupancy and revenue goals while maintaining superior resident relations.
Preferred:
- Experience with revenue management programs.
- Working knowledge of NYC housing laws and operational systems (HVAC, safety, etc.).
