Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trailer Utilization Specialist to support our logistics operations by maximizing trailer usage efficiency across a large, decentralized network. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in improving asset availability, reducing trailer idle time, and supporting strategic freight movement through data analysis, planning, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze trailer pool activity across the network to identify underutilized or idle assets.

  • Collaborate with field operations, agents, and capacity providers to optimize trailer positioning and turnover.

  • Develop and implement trailer usage strategies to meet demand in high-traffic or underserved regions.

  • Track and report on key utilization metrics, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.

  • Coordinate trailer recovery and relocation efforts, ensuring cost-effective and timely execution.

  • Support trailer maintenance scheduling in coordination with asset owners and service providers.

  • Leverage internal systems and reporting tools to provide visibility into trailer inventory and movement.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational goals and customer service objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or asset management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret data trends and make actionable recommendations.

  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., TMS, trailer tracking systems, Microsoft Excel).

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of trailer types and over-the-road transportation practices preferred.

Preferred:

  • Experience with trailer pool or drop-and-hook operations.

  • Understanding of freight brokerage and carrier operations.

  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and trailer maintenance procedures.
