Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Cash Applications Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for accurately applying incoming payments to customer accounts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring timely and efficient processing of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with accounting systems, and a commitment to accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit card payments) accurately and timely to appropriate accounts.

• Research and resolve unapplied or misapplied cash and short-payments.

• Work closely with the Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Customer Service teams to reconcile payment discrepancies.

• Maintain and update daily cash application reports and logs.

• Investigate and resolve chargebacks, deductions, or payment disputes.

• Assist in month-end close by reconciling cash receipts and generating reports.

• Communicate with customers or banking partners when necessary to resolve issues.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or general accounting.

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
