Ascendo Resources is seeking an Assistant Property Manager for a full-time, on-site role located in Islandia, NY. Salary range is $75,000 - $85,000.

Our client is a leading national food production company with 6,000+ employees across 18 states. We are seeking an Assistant Payroll Manager. This full-time corporate position supports the Payroll Director in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely weekly payroll processing for a rapidly growing organization. The ideal candidate will have strong multi-state payroll experience, solid technical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support weekly payroll processing for 6,000+ employees across multiple states.
• Audit payroll data, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Manage garnishments, subpoenas, and tax jurisdiction setup.
• Generate payroll and audit reports for Finance and HR leadership.
• Record and reconcile payroll-related journal entries in Great Plains.
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on payroll and timekeeping systems (Etime, ADP).
• Assist with acquisitions, integrations, and payroll-related projects to improve process efficiency.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing.
• Experience managing payroll for 5,000+ employees strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with ADP Payroll, Etime, and Great Plains (or similar ERP systems).
• Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance, garnishments, and reporting.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and confidentiality.
