Director of Payroll, Remote
Our healthcare client is seekingan experienced Director of payroll and HRMS leader to oversee multi-state payroll operations for 8,000+ employees. The ideal candidate has hands-on payroll experience, ADP expertise, and a strong understanding of retirement, HR, and benefits administration.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Extensive multi-state payroll experience (5+ years) with deep knowledge of payroll preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll tax regulations
- Background as a Payroll Specialist or Coordinator
- Experience managing high-volume payroll (8,000+ employees)
- 2+ years of people leadership experience, with a proven ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to collaborate across internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and the ability to safeguard sensitive payroll and employee information
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of education and experience will also be considered
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- ADP Vantage experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP Certification
- Experience with Payroll, HR, Compensation, Benefits, Retirement, 401(k)
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
