The Shipping Specialist plays a vital role in supporting kit-building operations by preparing outbound shipments of clinical trial kits and related materials. This hands-on position operates within a warehouse/production environment and partners closely with Kit Building, Inventory, and Operations teams to ensure all shipments are accurate, compliant, and delivered on schedule according to client specifications and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process outbound kit-building shipments by picking and verifying materials, packing kits, and preparing shipments for courier collection.
  • Cross-check kit contents against work orders to confirm correct quantities, lot numbers, expiration dates (as applicable), and complete documentation.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including packing lists, labels, and chain-of-custody forms when required.
  • Package materials according to established standards to maintain product integrity, including temperature-sensitive packaging workflows when applicable.
  • Coordinate carrier handoffs and support shipment tracking processes; promptly escalate delays or exceptions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse management or internal tracking systems, including shipment confirmations and staging updates.
  • Follow established SOPs and quality standards aligned with regulated life sciences environments; assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Keep shipping and staging areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready while adhering to safety guidelines and warehouse best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in shipping or warehouse operations, including picking, packing, labeling, documentation, and staging.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a regulated, process-driven environment.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, perform repetitive tasks consistently, and maintain high accuracy under deadlines.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, scanning tools, and warehouse/shipping systems; strong documentation practices.
  • Ability to lift and move packages in a warehouse setting and stand or walk for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling time-sensitive or healthcare-related shipments, such as clinical trial supplies, laboratory materials, or temperature-controlled products.
  • Familiarity with chain-of-custody procedures or specialized shipment visibility requirements.
  • Knowledge of international shipping documentation and regulated material handling (role-dependent).
