Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing and managing all aspects of payroll for employees. This role ensures timely and accurate payroll processing, maintains compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and resolves any payroll-related inquiries. The Payroll Specialist works closely with HR, accounting, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and temporary staff.

Timekeeping: Review and verify timekeeping records to ensure proper tracking of hours worked, overtime, and paid time off (PTO).

Deductions and Benefits: Administer deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other payroll-related items. Ensure proper recording and reporting of all deductions.

Compliance: Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax laws, overtime rules, and benefits administration. Ensure compliance with all payroll-related laws and regulations.

Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports, tax filings, and other required documents. Provide detailed reports on payroll expenses, overtime, and other payroll data for internal auditing and external reporting.

Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate payroll records for all employees, ensuring documentation is complete and accessible for audits, tax purposes, and internal records.

Employee Inquiries: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, tax withholdings, deductions, and benefits. Resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

Year-End Processing: Prepare and distribute annual W-2 forms for employees. Assist with other year-end payroll tasks, including tax filings and reconciliations.

System Maintenance: Assist with maintaining and updating payroll software systems. Work with HR and IT to ensure systems are functioning properly.
