A well-established New York City real estate firm with a portfolio of 8,000 residential units is seeking a Leasing Manager to oversee and enhance the operations of its residential leasing department. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of departmental processes, ensure compliance with NYC leasing regulations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results. This is an on-site role in Long Island City with an annual salary of up to $80,000.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of lease administration experience within NYC, including rent-stabilized, rent-controlled, and market-rate properties
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to restructure workflows and establish clear departmental procedures
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Experience with property management software (MDS experience a plus, but not required)

Responsibilties: 

  • Manage the lease renewal process for rent-stabilized, rent-controlled, and market-rate units
  • Ensure compliance with NYC rent regulations and related housing laws
  • Oversee and guide a small team (2–3 staff members), setting priorities and organizing workflows for maximum efficiency
  • Liaise with Section 8, Legal, and Accounting departments to streamline communication and resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate lease tracking, ensuring all deadlines and renewals are met
  • Foster positive tenant relationships and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
