ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Conduct client intake, including screening potential clients, collecting necessary information, and making appropriate referrals.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of legal/social service agencies that can help both eligible and ineligible applicants.
• Serve as a liaison between attorneys and legal/social service agencies.
• Assist attorneys with case preparation, including gathering and organizing documents, and maintaining case files.
• Enter data into our case management system.
• Track case progress, maintain case databases, and ensure compliance with deadlines.
• Assist in preparing legal workshops and outreach events on housing rights and tenant protections.
• Provide grant management support including tracking applications, data entry and preparing various reporting logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree or equivalent educational experience, or such work deemed equivalent.
• English/Spanish bilingual preferred but not required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to learn and adapt to changes.
• Proficient at the use of technology, including but not limited to email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet-based programs.
• A willingness to learn and further develop technology skills.
• Ability and willingness to work cooperatively and collegially within the law firm.
• Dependability, initiative and motivation, and concern for the interest of the client.
• Commitment to provide high quality legal assistance to low-income people in Northeast Florida.
