A prominent scaffolding company is looking for a Controller to join their team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, job costing, payroll compliance, and financial reporting. This role requires hands-on financial management while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and optimizing financial efficiency.

This on-site position located in Midtown Manhattan with an annual salary of up to $125,000 plus bonus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry
  • Proficiency with Sage and Excel

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide decision-making.
  • Oversee job costing, WIP reports, and project profitability analysis.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
  • Process payroll for field and office employees, ensuring compliance with wage laws.
  • Manage certified payroll, prevailing wage compliance, and union reporting.
  • Handle tax filings (payroll, sales, business) and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and improve financial efficiency.
  • Manage lien laws, AIA billing, and progress payments for project-based revenue.
  • Collaborate with project managers, operations, and executive leadership on financial planning.
  • Manage and mentor finance and accounting staff.
  • Ensure insurance, bonding, and risk management compliance.
