Job Title: Dispatcher

Location: Bensenville, Illinois
Compensation: $21–$22 per hour

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations and ensure the efficient and timely movement of shipments. The Dispatcher will be responsible for assigning drivers, optimizing delivery routes, tracking shipments, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and customers. This role is critical to maintaining service quality and operational compliance within our logistics network.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispatch & Coordination

• Schedule and dispatch pickups, deliveries, and recoveries

• Assign drivers to specific routes and ensure on-time performance

• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to meet delivery deadlines

Communication

• Communicate with drivers via phone, radio, or dispatch systems

• Provide clear instructions, updates, and route changes

• Serve as the point of contact for drivers and clients during deliveries

Route Management

• Use dispatch software and GPS tools to plan and optimize routes

• Monitor real-time traffic, weather, and road conditions to make route adjustments as needed

Tracking & Monitoring

• Track driver locations and delivery statuses

• Maintain logs of driver schedules, delivery timelines, and service records

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and transportation regulations

• Document incidents, delays, and delivery discrepancies accurately

• Assist in maintaining operational documentation and records

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a dispatcher or in a logistics/scheduling role

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency with dispatch or routing software and Microsoft Office

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems in real time

• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices

• Familiarity with Ensenville and surrounding routes is a plus

Preferred Experience:

• Background in transportation, courier services, or supply chain logistics

• Experience in time-sensitive or regulated shipping environments

• Understanding of inventory or fleet management systems
