Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with at least five years of clerical accounting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the transportation or logistics industry and a strong understanding of both AR and AP processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounts receivable activities including posting payments (approximately 25–30 checks and 50 ACH transactions weekly).

• Process and reconcile accounts payable for weekly vendor payments including fuel, benefits, and operational expenses (approximately 30 checks weekly plus ACH transactions).

• Perform billing and collections activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Maintain detailed and organized financial records.

• Assist with reconciliation of trip sheets and related carrier documentation.

• Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.

• Support the Accounting Manager with month-end closing activities as needed.

• Utilize QuickBooks for data entry, reporting, and account management (experience preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on clerical accounting experience (AR/AP, billing, collections).

• Transportation industry experience highly preferred (knowledge of trip sheets, common carrier processes, etc.).

• QuickBooks experience a strong plus.

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• No degree required.
