Job Purpose

The Business Processor plays a critical role in supporting insurance operations by ensuring timely, accurate data entry, invoice processing, and customer account maintenance. This role involves working with billing and payment systems, handling policyholder information, reconciling insurance transactions, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards. The position also supports customer service inquiries and helps meet monthly operational deadlines through precise data entry and administrative support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain accurate policyholder billing and account information

  • Generate invoices, statements, and policy-related documents in accordance with insurance guidelines

  • Perform account reconciliations related to insurance premiums, adjustments, and payments

  • Maintain accurate insurance files and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to customer policies or payments

  • Enter policy and customer data into proprietary insurance systems via a web-based interface

  • Ensure daily and weekly data entry targets are met to support month-end processing

  • Respond to inbound phone calls and emails regarding insurance policies, billing questions, and customer service matters

  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve processing issues and improve workflows


Required Skills and Competencies

  • Solid understanding of insurance operations, terminology, and policy administration

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and document review

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Capable of working independently while following established procedures

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, including phone and email etiquette

  • Proficiency in typing (minimum 45 WPM) and working with web-based systems and Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience in generating and reconciling invoices or statements within an insurance context


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the insurance industry (underwriting, claims, billing, or policy administration)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

  • Demonstrated accuracy, efficiency, and accountability in previous roles
