Assistant Controller – Wynwood, FL

A large, well-established organization with multiple locations across the U.S. is preparing to go public and is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its corporate finance team in Wynwood, Miami.

This is a key opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing company during an exciting pre-IPO phase. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and CFO to strengthen financial reporting processes, ensure GAAP compliance, and support the transition to public company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.

• Assist with audit coordination and internal control development (SOX readiness).

• Support SEC reporting and consolidation for multiple business units.

• Manage and mentor accounting staff across several U.S. locations.

• Implement process improvements and system enhancements to scale operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required or in progress.

• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including public accounting.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

• Experience in a multi-entity or multi-location organization preferred.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
