Job Title: Paralegal - Commercial Leasing & Real Estate
Location: Miami
Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Our client is a privately-owned real estate development and investment company They are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join the in-house legal team and support our growing portfolio of commercial real estate and leasing activities.
Position Overview:
As a Paralegal specializing in Commercial Real Estate Leasing, you will be responsible for supporting our legal department by managing documents, assisting with contract review, conducting research, and ensuring compliance across various real estate and corporate transactions. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining smooth operations, drafting and reviewing contracts, and assisting with legal processes related to commercial leasing and property management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Leasing & Real Estate Transactions:
Assist in-house counsel with all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, focusing on commercial real estate leasing (office, retail, and industrial properties).
- Contract Drafting & Review:
Draft, review, and edit a variety of legal documents, including commercial real estate leases, construction contracts, purchase agreements, and service agreements, in collaboration with internal teams and external parties.
- Contract Management & Compliance:
Manage contract intake, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations using Ironclad or similar contract management software. Assist with tracking amendments, renewals, and terminations of leases.
- Due Diligence:
Conduct due diligence for real estate transactions, including reviewing titles, surveys, zoning information, and lease agreements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with changes in commercial real estate laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure all transactions are compliant.
- Document Filing & Government Relations:
Prepare and file documents with government agencies, including property-related filings and corporate entity documents.
- Corporate Governance Support:
Assist in preparing board meeting materials, including agendas and minutes, and liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
- Research & Analysis:
Conduct legal research using Westlaw or other legal research tools to analyze statutes, regulations, and case law impacting real estate, leasing, and corporate matters.
- Document Organization:
Maintain accurate and organized records, both physical and digital, ensuring efficient access and compliance with company and legal standards.
- Proofreading & Quality Control:
Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
- Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within a real estate practice or a legal department focused on commercial real estate, with a concentration on commercial leasing (office, retail, and industrial lease agreements).
- Contract Management Software:
Proficiency in using Ironclad or similar contract management software is required.
- Legal Research & Tools:
Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw or similar.
- Communication Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external parties.
- Attention to Detail:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents.
- Language Skills:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, as the role may involve communication with Spanish-speaking clients and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications:
Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or a nationally recognized paralegal certification (e.g., NALA, NFPA, NALS) is preferred.
- Real Estate Litigation Experience:
Experience with real estate litigation, including evictions or disputes related to commercial leases, is a plus.
- Additional Legal Experience:
Familiarity with title and survey review, ADA compliance, or corporate law is beneficial.
