Job Description:

An established commercial mechanical contractor is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist with solid construction accounting experience. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and skilled in AIA billing, AR reconciliation, and managing commercial collections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit AIA billing applications, progress invoices, and final invoices.
• Monitor AR aging, follow up on overdue invoices, and manage collections.
• Collaborate with project managers to track billing milestones, handle change orders, and ensure proper revenue recognition.
• Ensure billing aligns with project timelines and deliverables through communication with project managers.
• Prepare lien waivers, compliance documents, and payment applications.
• Utilize Foundation or similar construction accounting software for accurate record-keeping.
• Generate AR reports, reconcile accounts, and assist with audits.
• Maintain communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams regarding invoicing and payments.

Must Haves: 

1. 3+ years of construction AR experience
2. Construction accounting knowledge, including:
• AIA Billing (G702/G703), Progress Billing, Pay Applications
• Retainage, Change Orders, Stored Materials Billing
• AR Aging Reports, Lien Waivers, NTOs, Mechanic’s Liens
• Work in Progress (WIP), Over/Under Billing
• Percentage of Completion (POC), Completed Contract Method
• Job Costing, Cost Plus, T&M Billing, Subcontractor Compliance
3. Software Proficiency: Foundation (preferred) or Sage 300 (Timberline), Viewpoint, Procore
