Senior EDI Developer Job Description

We are seeking a talented EDI Developer to design and install data interchange systems for our clients. In this role, you will be meeting with clients to understand their data interchange needs, designing appropriate EDI systems, and training them on the use of the system. You may also be required to periodically update and maintain the system. EDI Developer will be accountable for overseeing EDI connections with various trading partners and trouble shoot EDI errors and issues communicated by internal departments, customers, vendors or other EDI trading partners. 

 

 

EDI Developer Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with clients to discuss their data interchange needs.
  • Feed and troubleshoot EDI transactions into and out of ERP system
  • Analyzing business systems, networking configurations, and data storage facilities.
  • Building customized data interchange systems for cross-company or department use.
  • Testing and debugging the system.
  • Gathering user feedback on the accuracy, efficiency, and functionality of the system.
  • Adjusting and customizing the system based on user feedback.

 

EDI Developer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience as an EDI analyst.
  • At least 3+ years strong SQL experience.
  • Experience in building EDI solutions using the .NET framework. 
  • EDI Domain expertise (204,210,214,110,310,850,856,810) with hands on experience in EDI standards like XML, EDI VDA, X12, EDIFACT.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, Web Services and API.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with end-user training.
  • Result-oriented and ready to take ownership.
